Welcome!
Youth leadership is a dynamic and interdisciplinary field that draws from social science and education. It explores key themes such as identity development, ethical decision-making, communication skills, fairness, environmental advocacy, community engagement, and organizing. In today’s rapidly evolving and interconnected world, developing inclusive, informed, and resilient leaders is critical to shaping a more just and sustainable future.
This online course introduces students to the foundations of youth leadership. Through engaging readings, discussions, videos, quizzes, interactive activities, reflection, and community-based projects, we will explore course topics such as historical perspective, identity, sisterhood, girls in the media, leadership, body image, financial literacy, changemakers, and climate change. The course is designed to be accessible to students from all backgrounds and disciplines. You don’t need prior leadership experience; only curiosity, courage, and a willingness to grow.
